Got this book along with the Rita to study for theexam. Although Rita book is good, its long and very wordy. Andrew book is direct to the point and is a quick read. I read only the first 3 chapters from Rita. I read this entire book and did all of the questions. I passed the exam, while hard I didn’t feel the book missed any important topic.I think the questions in this book is the closest to the actual exam. I tried many different sites and apps for questions and none seem to match the actual exam. Even if you have studied for the exam with another source, get this book for the questions. I also have a coworker who passed with only this book also.
I read the PMBOK Guide (6th Edition) approximately 6 times, scribbled down notes, created flash cards and even downloaded an app on my phone to practice answering 10 questions on daily basis.However, and with all of the above written out, the PMBOK Guide (6th Edition) was hard to follow in most cases. Especially after a long, tedious day at work. The LAST thing on my mind were the cost formulas or the different risk analysis methods.This is where PMP Exam Prep Simplified: Based on PMBOK® Guide Sixth Edition came into play! It was extremely easy to read -- the PMBOK Guide was written by a group of intelligent folks, but it didn't have to be written in such a complicated manner! The author of PMP Exam Prep Simplified: Based on PMBOK® Guide Sixth Edition did an excellent job of simplifying complicated terminology and the 'Exam tips' in every chapter were highly valuable.Plus, the book made sure that I understood the difference between certain project documents and management plans. It even reiterated the difference a couple of times across multiple chapters. The quizzes at the end of each chapter were super helpful as well. Some of the questions, however, were poorly written and only made sense after reading the descriptions of the answers.This brings me to the ONLY con I have -- poor grammar. In some cases, the sentence structures didn't make sense. I'm not an English professor by any means, but I had to re-read a couple of sentences a handful of times just to understand what the heck they meant! In other cases, words were misspelled or missing a period, so it'd look like a giant run-on sentence.Overall, the book gets (4) stars, and it helped me pass my PMP Exam!Now, I wish the author would write another book on Program Management.
Call me crazy..., I am using this book to help prepare for the PMI PMP exam. It, like the author himself, cuts right to the "marrow". They enable many to wrap their heads around a gargantuan body of knowledge. Make no mistake this is a hard thing to do. But immersing oneself in Andrew's method makes it so much less daunting. It also raises to the surface, what many do subconsciously, every day; enabling an ordered intentionality. Oh, by the way, this is from someone who has managed large and complex design and construction projects for more than 30 years.

I found this book very concise and to the point. The printing of the book was clear; the letters have the right size,font and contrast with the book’s pages background . These attributes are not found in the PMI official book, which to me is a complete mess and failure.Beside the book printing, also the content of book is valueble and well presented. All the 49 processes are well defined and explained. However, I recommend also to look for other resources ( other books , websites) to have a wholistic view of the processes. Looking at the same thing from different perspectives increases understanding and ultimately further raises chances of passing the exam.
Pros: Easy to read with assessments (20-25 questions) at the end of each chapterCons: Some "hard to miss" grammatical errors across the book.Overall, I'll sau it is a good book to read alongside the PMBOK and Rita's book
